چکیده

Sensor selection optimization can lead to significant improvements in the controllability and observability of a dynamic system. The aim of this research is to investigate optimal or alternate measurement sets for aircraft gas turbine engine health parameter estimation. A brute force search for the best sensor set is too computationally expensive. Therefore, a Monte Carlo approach is used to perform a probabilistic search for a near-optimal sensor set. The health of aircraft gas turbine engines can be estimated using fewer sensors while still obtaining an acceptable estimation error covariance, thereby minimizing the financial cost of the sensor set.

Nonlinear Modelling and Validation of an Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine

In this paper the orthogonal estimation algorithm is used to estimate a NARMAX model for an aircraft gas turbine. The performance of the model is validated using a range of small and large signal tests and by examining the model’s static and dynamic characteristics. The NARMAX representation allows the direct mapping to the frequency domain by computing the Higher Order Frequency Response Funct...

Novel Auxiliary Power Unit Configuration Based On Fuel Cell Technology for Civil Aircraft Application

This paper proposes novel Fuel Cell Auxiliary Power Unit (FCAPU) for J150+ aircraft application. The primary version of APU in J150+ aircraft is a gas turbine Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) which is based on gas turbine jet engine but in the suggested FCAPU, the generated electrical power is achieved from chemical energy with higher efficiency. The Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology is used to...
